Aggregate Information (information that is non-personally identifiable)
Lucia prefers not to have a privacy fence enclose her back yard due to the fact that she's a wine-drinking social butterfly and likes to visit with her neighbors preferably during a bbq and over a great bottle of wine…and how can you do that with tall fences all over the place. However when it comes to her site Love to Wine, her stance on the issue of privacy changes drastically. Lucia and Love to wine respects each and every individual user's right to privacy. With that being said, Love to Wine does not collect your anyone's identifying information unless such information is specifically and knowingly provided from users during site registration, survey's, contests, sweepstakes, or use of public areas, such as a forum. From time to time, we share aggregated site traffic information with our partners and advertisers. As an integral part of our affiliate program, we track individual user activity and movement that is not personally identifiable. We do this to track the effectiveness of our affiliate program. Please note, this data is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

Third Party Offers or Mailing Lists
Users will periodically receive information on products, services, special promotions, and newsletters (ours or a third party's) if those users have chosen to opt-in and receive such communication. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we only send these types of communications if the user "opts-in". (Please see the outlined Choice: Opt-In and Opt-Out section of our privacy policy.) Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties (e.g., if we implement Third Party Mailing Lists). We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require an outside party. Love to Wine is not responsible for any actions or policies of such outside parties.

Choice: Opt-In and Opt-Out
Lucia HATES spam and strongly believes in free choice and so Love to Wine users are given the opportunity to "opt-in" to having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. Love to Wine does not supply identifying information to other companies, or use such information for its own purposes including but not limited to email newsletters, unless our user "opts-in" for such purposes by specifically allowing usage. (Identifying information must necessarily be used when notifying a user of requested information, such as email used for the alerts function, and notification of a winning entry in a contest or sweepstakes.)

Once subscribed, users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications may opt-out of (i.e., discontinue receiving) these communications by contacting us at memberships@lovetowine. We also make it easy to opt-out of these communications by offering opt-out mechanisms in the text of each and every email we send, and users may contact us at the street address at the top of this page to opt-out.

If for some reason a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as postal address, phone or email), or if a user no longer wishes to receive our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users' personally identifiable information. This can be done by contacting us at memberships@lovetowine.com.

For users who no longer wish to receive our partners' newsletters and promotional communications, that's okay too however it will be necessary to contact those companies directly. Please understand that once you have chosen to receive these third party mailing lists the use of your information will be governed by such parties' privacy practices and not Love to Wine's.

We certainly make every effort possible to preserve user privacy however we may need to disclose personal information when required by law if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a court order, judicial proceeding, or a legal process served on our Web site. We're not even sure what kind of legal issues could arise but Lucia's attorney's told her she had to put this paragraph in this statement.

Another thing Lucia wanted to mention is that there might be rare occasions whereas it will be necessary to send out a strictly service-related announcement. An example of this type of communication would be if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance (ouch), we might send users an email. Generally (because Lucia thinks this information is important and not of the promotional nature), users may not opt-out of these communications, although they can deactivate their account.

Security
Lucia thinks that It's good to feel secure! That's why Love to Wine uses (what we think are) equitable precautions to keep personal information disclosed to us secure. However, Love to Wine is not responsible for any breach of security. If a Love to Wine user knowingly provides personal information, such as a name or email address, in a forum or other public service, that user should be aware that the information provided can be collected and used by third parties. Such activities are beyond the control of Love to Wine.

If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. Love to Wine will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. Love to Wine stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.

ATTENTION ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18
Lucia says without hesitation….No information should be submitted to Love to Wine by any person under 18 years of age without their parent's or guardian's consent. Truly if you're under 18 years of age you have no business being on this site, you should be doing your homework. And to those guardians responsible for those under the age of 18 years, please note that Love to Wine does not have any control or mechanism (if the technology existed trust us Lucia would implement it!) in place to monitor the age of its user audience. Geeze, now we feel a little obligated to add the additional PC plug "never drink and drive"

Right to Change at Any Time
Lucia and Love to Wine reserves the right to change this policy at any time by posting notice of the existence of a new privacy statement. If our privacy policy does change for any reason we will post those changes to this privacy statement, our homepage, and other places we feel are appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

On a final note and just in case you were wondering…Lucia says that this statement and the policies outlined herein are not intended to and do not create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party. We think that pretty much covers it!
