Love to Wine

Lucia's Vision

About fifteen years ago our dear Lucia was having difficulty trying to soak yet another label off a bottle of wine she had just recently enjoyed. It's possible she might have been a little tipsy while attempting this but that's not the point. She had just celebrated a special occasion (with a dashing fine man I might add) and wanted to remember the super delicious bottle they shared but found instead that she was struggle in vain again with another label that would never really come clean off the bottle. Ultimately the unreadable and torn-beyond-repair label would find itself in the circular file of defeat. And of course Lucia knew that once the label hit the trash the recollection of it went as well (and this had nothing to do with her age)… another great bottle of wine she would be able to remember and enjoy again.

You see, like many other novice wine lovers Lucia lived in the moment when it came to enjoying wine. And the wines she typically enjoyed the most were those that were recommended or introduced to her by those with much greater wine knowledge than herself - and so these wines were not as easy for her to remember at a later time. This was even a greater issue when she found a wine she really enjoyed while dining out. She started saving the corks but you can imagine how crowded her kitchen became with that collection….

"There had to be a better way" Lucia thought as she was so desperately trying to recall the most extraordinary chardonnay that she had the good fortune to experience while dinning in a castle in London….but still to this day she can't recall what it was (that's probably a good thing though, Lucia doesn't think she could afford that particular bottle anyway). And that's when it hit her…what if the label she wanted to add to her wine journal could be found on line? What if she could go to a website and find the label of her favorite wines and add them to a virtual wine cellar? All she had to do at the very least was to write down the wine information on a napkin (anyone can do that right?) and then later go to a site where all the wine labels were stored and find the one she was looking for and instantly save it?

That very thought and desire was what initially inspired Lucia to create the "Love to Wine" website. Lucia felt that she couldn't be the only wine novice (aka evolving expert….epicure) out there that so desired this type of resource….There had to be others just like her out there drinking wine at a hap-hazard approach. They were out there enjoying wine to the best of their capabilities but looking for a way to improve their efforts. Yes! A web site dedicated to providing all the labels of wines from around the world…but wait….not just the labels as much information as possible about the wine. And this site would naturally provide (informative but not over powering and intimidating) information pertaining to the world of wine. She would create a site that would appeal to both the wine novice and evolving expert. Of course her site would have to be fun and very easy to use…

Well, to say the least it's taken her a while to get this little project off the ground and running but she finally has…of course with help from one of her favorite friends…and now business partner and much input from her other friends that she loves so much. "Love to Wine" has transformed from one idea into a community whereas wine lovers of all levels can come together and enjoy the world of wine on their terms.

Lucia and her team know that her site will only be successful if they provide the information and resources that you our valued members are looking for. We must provide an inviting and easy to navigate environment…one in which you may want to sit back and enjoy with a fine glass of wine. And that is why Lucia is most happy to receive your input and feedback on what we are doing…after all, this site was created for you (well… and Lucia).

Lucia's vision is to simply provide the ultimate online wine community, indispensable tool and resource site that is fun and easy to use for wine lovers and epicures of all levels.

Now please keep in mind like with all fine red wines our site too will improve greatly over time and with age. The best way to enjoy a bottle of red is to properly decant it, let it open up and breath and then experience it at every stage. We hope you will enjoy Lucia's site, "Love to Wine" in the same fashion - we promise it will be a great experience.
